Raw transcripts from recordings are cluttered with timestamps, speaker labels and verbal filler that get in the way of reading.

This cleaner strips the timestamps and speaker prefixes, and can optionally remove common filler words, leaving a cleaner transcript.

How to use Transcript Cleaner

  1. Paste your raw transcript into the left panel.
  2. Turn on Remove filler words to also drop fillers like um and uh.
  3. Copy the cleaned transcript from the right panel or download it.

What you can do with it

Good to know

Transcript timestamps vary in style, appearing as a bare time, a bracketed time, or an hours-minutes-seconds stamp, and all of these are removed. Filler removal is optional because it changes the wording.

Frequently asked questions

Which timestamp styles are removed?

Inline times such as a bare clock time, a bracketed time, or an hours-minutes-seconds stamp are all stripped.

What counts as a filler word?

Common verbal fillers like um, uh, you know and similar, removed only when you turn the option on.

Are speaker labels removed too?

Yes. Leading speaker names with a colon are removed along with the timestamps.
